Hiking and Climbing
Nestling in the Ötscher-Tormäuer Nature Park Gösing provides its visitors with the opportunity for hikes and climbs at almost every level. Gentle walks around the hotel, all-day hikes through the Erlauf Valley, the so-called Grand Canyon of Europe, as well as the ascent of the Ötscher by various routes … you can plan a variety of tours starting from Alpenhotel. Jogging
Absolving your rounds in fresh forest air that is rich in oxygen is certainly not an everyday possibility. The woodland around the hotel holds many groomed tracks in store for jogging enthusiasts. From the »small circuit« (approx. 5 km) around the hotel up to the »large Gösing circuit« (approx. 16 km) it is possible to explore the countryside starting from the hotel. Winter sports (skiing, cross-country skiing, snow-shoe hiking, ski tours)
From Gösing you can easily reach these family skiing areas by car, on the Mariazell Railway or with our hotel bus:

Snow-shoe hiking
Treading lightly through the snowy, calm countryside on snow-shoes is a particularly attractive pastime. You can hire snow-shoes in various sizes and also telescopic poles at Reception for a small charge. And we are pleased to give your some insider tips, too.
Horseback riding and sleigh rides
How about a ride out on one of the good-natured Haflinger ponies owned by the Schagl family? Or a carriage ride? The horseback rides are accompanied by qualified riding instructors and are a unique experience for young and old, beginners or more proficient riders. In summer you can enjoy the unmistakable natural surroundings of the Ötscher-Tormäuer Nature Park from a horse-drawn carriage.
In winter, wrapped up in blankets, you can ride through the enchanting snow-covered countryside on a sleigh pulled by the Haflinger.
